Applications for Funding for a Theatrical Production

Applications for funding for theatrical productions should include:

• Title & Contents
• Contact Details
• Personal Bios of Senior Production Team
• A Brief Synopsis
• Statements from:
• The Director
• The Producer, including a detailed budget
• The Production Designer
• The Marketing Manager
• The Production Manager (if you have one)

General Guidelines:

• There must be some Magdalen involvement in the production.
• The Budget must be submitted in the standard OUDS template, as a spreadsheet.
• Do not forget to include your desired 'Backing Sum' (ie how much money you are asking for). Don't be afraid to ask for an amount you actually want, rather than an amount that you think you should ask for.

The Application Process:

The Magdalen Players are now accepting funding applications for shows in Trinity.  Applications for pro-rata loans for any sized show should include a synopsis, personnel bios, a budget and statements from the Producer, Director, Designer, Marketing Manager and Production Manager (if you have one), as well as contact details.  Also, don't forget to include how much you are asking for!  The deadline is midnight on Friday of 7th week (2nd March), and interviews will take place at the beginning of 8th week.  Please note that we can only fund shows in which there is some degree of Magdalen involvement in the cast or crew - this should be mentioned in your bid.
 

If your application is successful, the producer of the company will then be asked to read and sign our funding contract. No money will be released to the company until this contract is signed and returned to the secretary. Please see our website for a specimen copy of our funding contract although do remember that the contract you sign may differ from the one on our website.
